Absolute and Disney Share Tips on How to Prepare a Fuzz-free Kiddie Party

Written by Unknown at 4:05 PM 0 comments
The timing of this product's arrival is very good since I am also busy preparing for my son's first birthday.  At first, I thought that kiddie party is just as easy as ABC, but I am wrong.  First birthday preparation is like a debut preparation, you need to check every details. From the invitation, souvenirs, loot bags, venue, catering, photographers etc.

Anyways, planning for a kiddie party need not to be too much of a stress, especially having the end goal of making it fun, memorable, and simply giving your kid a knack of a good time. The first thing to remember is that any kind of party-planning requires work, but good planning with a timeline tracker makes it a whole lot easier to handle.

Puree Love: Feeding Your Baby the Healthiest Way

Written by Unknown at 4:07 PM 0 comments
I may not have a baby of my own, yet, but my nephews grew with me.  So I know how to take  care of the young ones.  And the transition between milk to solid food is a fun time for mommies and Aunts everywhere. It’s the perfect time to experiment with fruits and vegetables as you slowly introduce new food groups to your child. :)

When it comes to feeding babies, mommies have long relied on pureed fruits and vegetables to get the job done.
Below are some age-appropriate mommy puree favorites for every stage.

Baby applesauce for 4 months and above.
With just the right amount of baby apples and a reliable food processor or blender, you can let your little one enjoy the many benefits of apples. Babies love its sweet taste while enjoying the abundance of vitamin C and fiber.

Advocacy: Epilepsy Awareness and its Impact to Society

Written by Unknown at 11:00 PM 0 comments
It is not easy to grow up in a family with epilepsy.  As a child, every seizures became an unforgettable moments/ experiences of my life I can't forget.  Every accidents accompanied by seizure attacks ( head bumps, head cracks, burned hands, cracked bones and a lot more) remain crystal clear in my memories.  During those times, I was so afraid to go near that person; convulsing, throwing up saliva.  I always said "I wanna go to bed."

But as I grew up with that person, I learned how to take care of the situation.  Elders taught me what to do in case the attack happened when we're alone.  The most important thing to do is to ensure the safety of that person, to prevent the head from hitting the ground.

Awareness is one of the very important things to consider with this condition.   And with that, I am here to help PLEA spread this awareness to people who doesn't know about Epilepsy.  In the Philippines, we celebrated the National Epilepsy Day last September 1-6 with the theme: EPILEPSY: TIGIL ATAKE...TULAY SA TAGUMPAY.  The week was started off with Tripartite Symposium for Neurologists: MARIJUANA in Epilepsy held in Sulu Hotel last September 1.
This was a forum among neurologist to discuss the emerging issues on Medical Marijuana and to hopefully come out with a consensus statement on its role in the management of Epilepsy in the Philippines.

The Attack of Bacteria: Know your Enemy

Written by Unknown at 8:00 AM 0 comments
Did you know that good oral hygiene begins and ends with bacteria?
Yes, that is right.  There are up to 72 kinds of bacterias living in our mouth and once the strain is there, we can never take it out.  The best we can do is to keep it at a minimum. So we have to start with a healthy environment for good bacteria to grow.  Maintain this regimen by preventing bad bacteria from accumulating and causing plaque, cavities and bad breathes.

How to do it?
Start with the food you eat. Avoid sugary and starchy food, consume more vegetables, and drink your eight glasses of water a day.
After eating, always brush your teeth, use oral care products with anti-bacterial features, and clean your tongue with scrapers or your tooth brush.
By knowing the enemy of good oral hygiene, you can easily win the fight against it. :)

Health Check: How Clean are Your Teeth?

Written by Unknown at 3:57 PM 0 comments
Our mouth is the busiest part of our body, it is working from morning 'till night..and even when we're asleep.  Just like every part of our body, our teeth can get dirty too..

How?

When you're eating too much sweets(oh I love Chocolates) and drinking carbonated drinks (refreshing Sodas) to keeping bacteria-friendly toothbrushes( with sentimental value?).

However, cleaning your teeth can be just as easy as one-two-three.
Floss first to remove bigger debris in between the teeth.
Second, brush your teeth at least twice daily for two minutes each time.
Third, don’t forget your tongue and brush this area clean too.  If possible, rinse your mouth with a mouthwash for perfect finish.
And to beef up your daily regimen even more, here are three teeth-cleaning partners to help maintain your pearly whites.
First is a 12-hour anti-bacterial protection toothpaste to boost your teeth’s defense.
Second is the right toothbrush that suits your cleaning needs. And of course, don’t forget to visit your dentist every six months for professional cleaning.
Remember, it’s easy to get our teeth dirty, but with a little effort, having clean teeth will become even easier.

So Juicy, So Lambot ang Kok's Manok!

Written by Unknown at 12:00 PM 0 comments
My husband Mon loves chicken so much.  Roasted, Fried, Steamed he'll eat them all as long as they're edible :P  Actually in our three (3) years here in Cavite, we've been looking for a different taste in chicken.  We've tried Baliwag, Senior Pedro, Chooks to Go and even Andok's but something is still missing...???

The good news is, my blogger friend Koko and her partner opened a place which cater a sinfully delicious roasted chicken, last August 31, 2013, the Kok's Manok. Their take-out restaurant already gained followers in Imus, Cavite just a month after its opening. But from a handful of stores that I also mentioned above, which offers the same product, why does Kok’s Manok continues to gain loyal customers?

Softa-Man Hand Rub: Not all alcohols are the same

Written by Unknown at 4:40 PM 0 comments
Technically, I am not a medical person.  But that doesn't mean I won't involve myself or limit myself in knowing what's good for me and my family when it comes to health care.  I must be aware to what kind of germs, bacterias and viruses we are exposed and where we can get those.  That is why I attended B.Braun's health awareness seminar.

There I learned that despite the fact, and probably because of the fact that hospitals are places where the highest concentration of sick and weak people can be found, there are certain health risks inherent to hospitalization.
That’s why even doctors will only recommend hospitalization when they feel it is absolutely necessary.
The most compelling reason to hold off hospitalization until it is absolutely necessary is hospital acquired infections (HAI)

What is hospital acquired infections or HAI?

Fibr: Home’s Most Powerful Broadband

Written by Unknown at 3:29 PM 0 comments
Living in this modern world means living in a world of great and advanced technology.
I remember the days when the only people to own a cellphone were the rich ones and those with businesses.  But nowadays, even the kids can have it (of course provided by their parents). Tablets, phablets, laptops and an improved breed of computers are just an indication that we can't live without a good internet connections (Well, what's the use of those beautiful and smart gadgets if we can't do what we wanna do, right?)

The good news is that PLDT, one of the largest communication company in the Philippines introduces the Fibr Technology.

What is Fibr by the way?

Taking the Plunge: It’s More Fun with Your Barkada’s Favorite Characters

Written by Unknown at 10:30 AM 0 comments
Adventures instantly become memorable because of the people involved, not really the activity done.

At Sand Dunes with my friends
Our barkada is often present in all of our take the plunge moments. Next to family, we share most of our time with members of barkada. Each group has different characters, often friends from childhood or school.
Our barkadas are always fun to bring along to adventures simply because of the different personalities they bring to the table.
These personalities are what make each barkada distinct. While each group has identifying characteristics, each member has individual traits that contribute to the group dynamic.
What is your role in your Barkada?
