So Juicy, So Lambot ang Kok's Manok!

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 12:00 PM 0 comments
My husband Mon loves chicken so much.  Roasted, Fried, Steamed he'll eat them all as long as they're edible :P  Actually in our three (3) years here in Cavite, we've been looking for a different taste in chicken.  We've tried Baliwag, Senior Pedro, Chooks to Go and even Andok's but something is still missing...???

The good news is, my blogger friend Koko and her partner opened a place which cater a sinfully delicious roasted chicken, last August 31, 2013, the Kok's Manok. Their take-out restaurant already gained followers in Imus, Cavite just a month after its opening. But from a handful of stores that I also mentioned above, which offers the same product, why does Kok’s Manok continues to gain loyal customers?

Softa-Man Hand Rub: Not all alcohols are the same

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 4:40 PM 0 comments
Technically, I am not a medical person.  But that doesn't mean I won't involve myself or limit myself in knowing what's good for me and my family when it comes to health care.  I must be aware to what kind of germs, bacterias and viruses we are exposed and where we can get those.  That is why I attended B.Braun's health awareness seminar.

There I learned that despite the fact, and probably because of the fact that hospitals are places where the highest concentration of sick and weak people can be found, there are certain health risks inherent to hospitalization.
That’s why even doctors will only recommend hospitalization when they feel it is absolutely necessary.
The most compelling reason to hold off hospitalization until it is absolutely necessary is hospital acquired infections (HAI)

What is hospital acquired infections or HAI?

Fibr: Home’s Most Powerful Broadband

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 3:29 PM 0 comments
Living in this modern world means living in a world of great and advanced technology.
I remember the days when the only people to own a cellphone were the rich ones and those with businesses.  But nowadays, even the kids can have it (of course provided by their parents). Tablets, phablets, laptops and an improved breed of computers are just an indication that we can't live without a good internet connections (Well, what's the use of those beautiful and smart gadgets if we can't do what we wanna do, right?)

The good news is that PLDT, one of the largest communication company in the Philippines introduces the Fibr Technology.

What is Fibr by the way?

Taking the Plunge: It’s More Fun with Your Barkada’s Favorite Characters

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 10:30 AM 0 comments
Adventures instantly become memorable because of the people involved, not really the activity done.
At Sand Dunes with my friends
Our barkada is often present in all of our take the plunge moments. Next to family, we share most of our time with members of barkada. Each group has different characters, often friends from childhood or school.
Our barkadas are always fun to bring along to adventures simply because of the different personalities they bring to the table.
These personalities are what make each barkada distinct. While each group has identifying characteristics, each member has individual traits that contribute to the group dynamic.
What is your role in your Barkada?

Tips Every New Mom Should Know

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 5:53 PM 0 comments

I still remember the feeling when I first knew there is life inside me.  I am very excited!  My heart is overwhelming with joy.  And despite my sleeplessness I exude pride and joy like no other.
But I am not yet a mother (I'll tell the story some other time). New mothers can become overwhelmed by information from many sources: their parents, friends, the internet, and even well-meaning strangers.

The number one rule for any new mother is this: don’t compare yourselves with other mothers

Blogopolis 2013: Into the Wild (Discover and Explore the Information Jungle!)

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 4:13 PM 0 comments
I wasn't able to attend last year's Blogopolis with theme: ONLIne in the PHilippines because of some conflicts on my schedules.  They focused on engaging and educating us bloggers of the ever-growing Filipino blogosphere

The conference covered topics related to blogging and its four pillars - content, marketing, monetization and advocacy. It served as an introduction to the blogging industry with the goal of helping our community further our blogging skill set and knowledge.

I missed a lot of opportunities last year: the opportunity to learn a lot about the online communities and how to earn from my blog and the opportunity to acquaint with my fellow bloggers.  My GodMother told me that it was fun.  She even won a brand new iPhone 5, very lucky!

This year, Blink and Nuffnang Philippines will take us to the information Jungle via Blogopolis 2013 theme "Into the Wild" (Weaving Information for Leaders of the Digital world).

This one is very timely and can help us cope up in this digital world with fast-paced technologies, the surge of social media, and other online platforms.

NIVEA Deep Cleansing Mud Foam: Facial Cleansers Have Never Gone this Deep

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 1:52 PM 2 comments
Being a woman of this modern time, one of my golden rule to keep my face soft, smooth and pimple free is to never sleep with my make up on.   I used facial wash and or make up remover to eliminate those make-ups.

But the question is, have I cleansed deeply enough?
Let's admit that everyday we put on several make-up layers – from foundation, to blush-on, eye shadows and a final dusting of setting powders.
We used oils or facial wipes  to strip make-up away. However, I learned that make-up removers may still leave behind residues that clog the pores and cause unwanted breakouts. So it is rally important to follow through with a cleanser that not only deeply cleanses the face, but clears leftover make-up residues as well.
There's this product that deeply cleanse our face.  Introducing the new NIVEA Deep Cleansing Mud Foam. It goes down deep into the pores to effectively clean dirt and oil. More importantly, it is formulated to clear 10 different make-up residues that can be left behind by make-up removers: make-up oils, press powder, foundation, blush, highlighting powders, eye shadow, eyeliner, silicone, cream residues, and sunscreen.

Mc Jim Classic Leather: My Trusted Companion

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 10:00 AM 0 comments
Belt is one of the many accessories of a woman.
For several years, I convinced myself that the cheaper ones are okay as long as it is presentable and fashionable.

my 3 month-old belt
So I bought a lot of belts with a lesser value, with different colors and style and different sizes.  Yes, in that particular moment I don't mind the amount I've spent since it's cheaper.  But as time passed by I've noticed that those belts I bought didn't last longer....even for a month. :( And the total amount I've spent with them could buy a branded and stronger one.
I was so wrong!

Masuki: Delectably Cantonese

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 10:00 AM 0 comments
Because of heavy rains last Tuesday night, hubby and I decided to eat something hot.
So while walking at the LG floor of Megamall B, we spotted Masuki beside the Bacolod Chicken Inasal.  Since, we haven't tried their mami yet, we dined in.

To give a few background: they started their business way back in 1930′s at the streets of Binondo.
Wherein Ms. Willen’s (the owner) father used to go house to house carrying the noodles to sell.  From that, he was able to establish a restaurant they named Ma Kong Mami in 1964 then later changed to  Masuki.

Special Mami P120
They're serving an old style mami.
I really don't have any idea about that but I guess it's the way they served mami in old Chinatown.

We ordered Original Special Mami which is good for two (P120).  It has chicken and pork strips with onion leaves for toppings. We also had what they call Saipao (Asado) (P55) and Sanyuk Pao (Bola-bola) (P57), both are their version of Siopao.

How I fell Inlove with Shakey's Salad?

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 10:00 AM 0 comments
I seldom visit Shakey's Pizza Parlor because I am not a pizza fanatic.  But I changed that notion last week when my sister and nephew visited us.

Shakey's and Me
Since I seldom see them, hubby and I decided to treat them at Shakey's because my nephew is requesting a lot of stuffs like pizza, fries, fried chicken and spaghetti which can only be found in Shakey's, I think.

For that particular night, we ordered Family Meal Deal 1 (P695.00) consists of :

1 large Shakey's Texas chicken barbecue flavored pizza

Shakey's Texas Chicken BBQ

Behind The Waterworks: The Process of Purity

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 7:00 PM 0 comments

I'm not yet a mother but when I become one I'm sure I'll be very protective and keen to details to whatever my children will be eating or drinking.

Mothers don’t settle for second best.
When it comes to their family, they go beyond what is expected of them to ensure that their families, especially their kids, are safe.

Today, one of the major things that concern mothers everywhere is the availability of safe drinking water. A mother doesn’t want her family to suffer from numerous waterborne diseases and is the reason why she keeps a close eye on her family’s drinking water.

Absolute Distilled Drinking Water understands the meticulousness of a mother’s heart.
This is the reason why, just like a mother, Absolute goes beyond what is expected to provide Filipino families with nothing but the very best.

Feeling Fresh and Confident with PH Care

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 3:27 PM 0 comments
I am a woman on the go.
That is why I always bring a huge bag with a lot of stuffs inside wherever I go.  My husband always says I have my closet (aparador) inside.  When you happen to open my bag, you can find not just 2 purses but 4 including my coin purse and wallet. :D

Being a woman, one of the must haves in my bag aside from my kikay kit is my hygiene kit.  That include toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash and of course the feminine wash.  Since I'm a working gal (not all CR have water for cleaning/washing), I'm happy and thankful when Unilab (a known and trusted brand when it comes to health care) gave me these samples for review, a product dedicated to us woman on the go, the PH Care feminine wipes.

Quick and Easy Meatloaf Pizza with Del Monte

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 4:09 PM 0 comments
I like doing a lot of things during my free hours or while at home.  I love reading (e-books), writing (blogging), singing, sleeping, dancing, eating and of course with all my heart: cooking. And since I'm a busy wife, I see to it that at least once a week, I cooked for my husband (and he loves it!).

And since last week was a long weekend, I will share to you what I did for our snack.  Since we have a lot of pandesal leftovers from our breakfast, I prepared meatloaf pizza derived from Del Monte's Quick n' Easy pizza recipe.(I just substitute some ingredients for an experiment) :)

Quick and Easy Meatloaf Pizza

8 Pandesal or Loaf breads
1 can Meatloaf (cubed)
1 can pineapple tidbits
100g Cheese ( you should use quickmelt cheese)
1 pouch Del Monte Italian Pizza Sauce

Here's how to do it:

1. Cut the bread (pandesal) into halves.
2. Toast or bake it for 2 minutes.
3. Spread Del Monte Italian Pizza sauce over toasted bread with spoon.

Just Give Me a Reason

Written by Akosi Nene Cristina at 2:53 PM 0 comments
Just give me a reason is one of the many songs that inspired me to write again.  I actually have 2 existing blogs,  still I created this one to start a new direction....pointing towards me and to what I really want to do.  Well, it's really hard to maintain a site if you're a busy person.  But i love writing, and I want to express it by blogging.  So I'll find a way to do it.  Hope you'll still be there to guide and support me.

Let's do it! :)
